“You eat it. I don’t want it.”
“Nah, I think I’ll pass. You have the last one.”
“Why can’t you just have it and get it done with! It will go bad if left like that!”
“Well, you have it then, if you are so concerned.”
Both knew that the person who eats the last brownie will have to wash the container and give it back.
Mom walks in.
“Will you girls give it a rest? I’m sick of these arguments that have been going on for the past few days. All this noise would make the whole neighbourhood rush here to have it!”, she said as she opened the container casually and popped the last brownie in her mouth.
The girls stared at her in horror.
She continued while chewing, “Mandy, wash this container. And after that, Reese will go and give it to Mrs. David. Don’t forget to thank her for the brownies. It’s unbelievably good. It’s a shame you two didn’t want it.”
She walked away, grinning secretly. The girls stared at each other in disbelief. Not only was the last piece gone, they still had to do the chores!
